Deck overview

This deck is a high-power mono-black combo build led by Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. It leverages fast mana rituals and cost reducers to assemble deterministic lifegain-drain loops ahead of curve. Having Vito in the command zone guarantees access to half of the signature two-card infinite combo with Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror. The 99 includes heavy redundancy with cards like Enduring Tenacity and Sanguine Bond, alongside alternate compact win conditions such as Professor Onyx with Chain of Smog and Bolas's Citadel with Aetherflux Reservoir. Strong card engines like Necropotence and Black Market Connections maintain hand advantage, while disruptive permanents like Opposition Agent and Dauthi Voidwalker slow down opposing game plans. The deck aims to race the table, surviving on incremental lifegain before finishing all three opponents simultaneously.
