Deck overview

Thorin Oakenshield leads a Boros Dwarf tribal and Equipment aggro deck that blends aggressive combat pressure with artifact synergy. The strategy focuses on deploying low-cost Dwarves and Equipment in the early turns to rapidly trigger the Storied mechanic, granting passive Ward {1} across your entire board. Engines like Puresteel Paladin, Forge Anew, and Sram, Senior Edificer bypass steep equip costs while maintaining a steady flow of cards. By Turn 4 to 5, the deck attaches formidable weapons like Colossus Hammer, The Reaver Cleaver, and Bloodforged Battle-Axe onto Thorin Oakenshield or double-striking Dwarves like Iron Hills Blacksmith to threaten rapid commander damage eliminations. A strong suite of defensive tools—including Mithril Coat, Swiftfoot Boots, and Bofur, Reliable Guardian // Concerted Care—insulates key attackers from targeted removal, while Moonshaker Cavalry and Balin, Loremaster offer powerful alternate finishes to close out the table by Turn 7.
