Deck overview

This is a high-octane Rakdos spellslinger/combo deck built around Rowan, Scion of War. The deck's primary game plan is to pay a large amount of life in a single turn, then activate Rowan to reduce the cost of all black and red spells by that amount. With the cost reduction in place, a burst of rituals, treasures, and card advantage spells (Necropotence, Underworld Breach, Yawgmoth's Will) enables a massive Torment of Hailfire or Exsanguinate that drains the table. The deck is extremely tutor-dense, allowing it to assemble the critical pieces quickly, and it leans on its graveyard for recursion and burst mana. While it lacks traditional counterspells, it compensates with abundant instant-speed removal and free spells like Deflecting Swat and Deadly Rollick. ---
