Deck overview

This deck is a specialized Mardu combat-reanimator and aristocrats shell led by Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad. The primary game plan focuses on loading the graveyard with high-impact Assassins through cards like Buried Alive and Entomb, then using Altaïr's attack trigger to exile them with permanent memory counters. Each subsequent combat generates tapped and attacking token copies of all exiled Assassins. By combining life-halving attackers such as Virtus the Veiled and Unstoppable Slasher with sacrifice outlets like Phyrexian Altar and aristocrat drain engines like Blood Artist, the deck rapidly shreds opposing life totals. Protection pieces like Grand Abolisher and Deflecting Swat ensure safe combat steps, while Grave Pact continuously strips opposing boards. The deck excels at grinding value and delivering explosive combat steps, maintaining strong resilience because memory counters persist on exiled cards even if the commander is temporarily removed.
