Deck overview

This deck is a Jeskai Legendary Wizard Spellslinger deck commanded by Gandalf, Party Guest. The deck leverages a high density of legendary Wizards to amplify Gandalf's combat ability, allowing you to cast expensive instants and sorceries from hand for free each combat step. Early turns focus on establishing cheap cost-reducing or card-drawing Wizards such as Baral, Chief of Compliance, Kitsa, Otterball Elite, and Vivi Ornitier. Once Gandalf enters, the deck transitions into explosive value turns, chaining free card-draw spells and token-producing enchantments like Shark Typhoon and Whirlwind of Thought. The endgame is reached by casting asymmetric board clearers like Urza's Ruinous Blast alongside devastating combat amplifiers like Surge to Victory, World at War, and Balmor, Battlemage Captain, overwhelming the table with unblockable or evasive combat damage and burn.
