Deck overview

Ozai, the Phoenix King leads an aggressive Rakdos big-mana strategy that turns temporary firebending combat mana into a permanent reservoir of red mana. The deck accelerates through early turns using efficient mana rocks and rituals before deploying Ozai or complementary mana batteries on Turn 5. By attacking with firebending creatures, you generate combat mana that Ozai's static ability permanently preserves across phases and turns. Once a massive pool of 20 or more mana is accumulated by Turn 6, the deck converts this resource advantage into decisive table-wide burn spells like Crackle with Power, Torment of Hailfire, and Exsanguinate, or executes an infinite combat loop using Aggravated Assault and Avatar Roku, Firebender. A strong suite of redirection spells like Deflecting Swat and Bolt Bend protects the commander and key spells from opposing removal, ensuring a rapid, lethal close.
