Smaug, Wicked Worm by Grimloch

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug, Wicked Worm

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Helmed by Smaug, Wicked Worm, this is a Black-Red Dragon/Treasure deck that weaponizes artifact tokens as both mana and a win condition. Smaug's ETB mints a Treasure for each artifact opponents control, and his second trigger turns every Treasure-funded spell into a cantrip, letting the deck chain through its hand. The primary plan is to snowball Treasure production through Xorn, Academy Manufactor, Goldspan Dragon, and Magda, Brazen Outlaw - Magda is effectively a hidden commander who converts five Treasures into a tutored Dragon or artifact - then convert that mana into a lethal multi-combat turn with Aggravated Assault, Scourge of the Throne, or Desert Were-Worm, or bury the table under an X-spell from Crackle with Power. Alternate wins come from Revel in Riches and Hellkite Tyrant, while Mirkwood Bats and Ingenious Artillerist turn the token engine into a drain.
