Deck overview

This deck leverages Lorehold, the Historian to transform high-cost instants and sorceries into 2-mana miracles castable on any player's turn. Lorehold's upkeep ability lets you discard and draw on each opponent's upkeep, turning the first draw of every turn into a potential miracle window. Top-deck engines like Library of Leng, Scroll Rack, and Penance guarantee that expensive payoffs are placed directly on top of the library right before drawing. The primary path to victory is casting Approach of the Second Sun for {2}, digging seven cards deep using wheels or draw spells, and casting it a second time from hand to win immediately. Backup plans include deploying game-ending spells such as Storm Herd, Rise of the Eldrazi, and Improvisation Capstone. A robust suite of free and low-cost protection spells shields Lorehold from removal while the engine closes out the game.
