Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Smaug the Impenetrable is the engine and finisher of this Rakdos Treasure-burn deck. The primary plan is to cast Smaug, turn his indestructible body into a Treasure factory with Cut Propulsion, Self-Destruct, Pestilence, or Chain Lightning, and convert the tokens into damage through Reckless Fireweaver, Mayhem Devil, and Exsanguinate. Secondary paths include unblockable commander damage with Rogue's Passage and midrange pressure from Etali and Zealous Conscripts. Underworld Breach and Bolas's Citadel keep the engine running or let the deck dig for the singleton combo pieces. Every main line depends on Smaug surviving, so protecting him is crucial; there is no DFC face to choose and no hidden commander.
