New Untitled Deck by SeniorMoose

Format: Commander

Commander: Gallowbraid

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

At the helm, Gallowbraid is less a commander than a tax collector: a 5/5 trampler whose cumulative upkeep of 1 life is exactly the kind of pain this list wants to pay. The deck is a mono-black life-as-a-resource build that converts its own life total into cards (Phyrexian Arena, Eye of Vecna, Sign in Blood, Infernal Contract, Bolas's Citadel), removal (Vendetta, Infernal Grasp, Devour in Shadow, Font of Agonies), and ultimately a giant Exsanguinate or Bond of Agony powered by Cabal Coffers, Cabal Stronghold, Magus of the Coffers, and Bubbling Muck across 30 Swamps. The signature kill is life-total math: pay or halve your own life toward zero (Wall of Blood, Ebonblade Reaper), drag the table down with Repay in Kind, then finish with any X-drain. Tree of Perdition, Profane Transfusion, Magus of the Mirror, and Soul Conduit form a second ladder, with Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Bolas's Citadel's sacrifice ability as alternative finishers. The hidden engines in this deck live in the 99, not the command zone.
