Deck overview

Smeagol, Helpful Guide is the engine of this Golgari aristocrats/reanimator build. A creature dying each turn makes the Ring tempt you at your end step, letting Smeagol steal a land from the top of an opponent's library while milling their graveyard. The deck feeds that trigger with sacrifice outlets, token generators, and recurring creatures, then turns the accumulated value into reanimated threats and life-draining payoffs. Secondary paths include stealing creatures with Sepulchral Primordial and Staff of Eden, and finishing with repeated Gray Merchant drains, high-power annihilator attacks, or One Ring to Rule Them All's chapter-three drain. There is no hidden commander; Smeagol is the primary engine and Meren is the key supporting engine.
