Deck overview

The Howling Abomination commands an aggressive Gruul storm and spellslinger deck designed to burn down the entire table through targeted cantrips and pump spells. Casting low-cost targeted instants directly onto the commander triggers both passive burn across all opponents and massive power buffs. The deck accelerates into its five-mana commander using cheap ramp spells and temporary mana rituals. Once the commander resolves, the pilot strings together inexpensive cantrips, power multipliers like Unleash Fury or Temur Battle Rage, and damage radiators like Chandra's Ignition or Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar. Alternate token and storm engines provide lethal board-wide burst damage if the primary commander plan faces severe disruption.
