Deck overview

Strefan, Maurer Progenitor leads a Rakdos Vampire tribal deck centered on generating Blood tokens through life loss and cheating high-cost Vampires directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. The deck establishes early board presence with aggressive low-drop Vampires and pingers to ensure life loss triggers Strefan's end-step Blood generation upon entry on Turn 4. On Turn 5, Strefan attacks and sacrifices two Blood tokens to deploy massive threats like Crossway Troublemakers, Butcher of Malakir, or Markov Enforcer with temporary indestructible. The deck wins by accumulating overwhelming combat damage and incremental life drain across multiple turns. While its mana-cheating engine produces explosive midgame boards, the deck relies heavily on combat steps and lacks stack interaction, fast mana, or instant-speed plan protection. Disruption directed at Strefan before combat slows the deck down, forcing it to hardcast expensive creatures or rely on natural draws and Blood filtering to rebuild.
