Commander: Sheoldred, the Apocalypse

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a mono-black group-slug deck helmed by Sheoldred, the Apocalypse that forces the table to draw excess cards and converts every opposing draw into life loss while converting your own draws into life. The plan layers symmetric draw engines (Howling Mine, Font of Mythos, Temple Bell, Seizan, Perverter of Truth, Teferi's Puzzle Box) with redundant draw-punishers (Underworld Dreams, Fate Unraveler, Scrawling Crawler, Orcish Bowmasters, Psychosis Crawler) and life-gain payoffs (Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Marauding Blight-Priest, Alhammarret's Archive). Primary finishes are Peer into the Abyss pointed at an opponent under Sheoldred, devotion drains via Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and explosive life-to-cards loops with Vilis, Broker of Blood, Lich's Mastery, and Bolas's Citadel. The commander is the premier punisher but not a hard linchpin-the 99 already carries multiple independent damage-on-draw engines.
