Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius control and token beatdown strategy led by Hylda of the Icy Crown. The deck aims to accelerate on turns 1 and 2 using low-cost mana artifacts, deploying Hylda by turn 3 or 4. Once Hylda is on the battlefield, the deck converts cheap tap spells, repeatable tapping creatures, and mass tap effects into a compounding board state. Every tapped opposing creature can be transformed into a 4/4 Elemental token, a team-wide buff, or card selection for just one mana. The deck locks down opposing combat steps and tap-activated abilities while generating an overwhelming army of blockers and attackers. Free and cheap protection spells like Flawless Maneuver and Flare of Fortitude protect the board from sweepers, while Rhoda, Geist Avenger and Timin, Youthful Geist provide a self-assembling backup threat if Hylda is removed.
