Deck overview

This Grixis control deck leverages Nicol Bolas in all his forms to grind out multiplayer pods through systematic card advantage, hand disruption, and decisive board wipes. In the early turns, the deck deploys low-cost artifact acceleration to cast Nicol Bolas, the Ravager or draw engines like Phyrexian Arena by turn 4. The mid-game focuses on controlling the battlefield with flexible spot removal, forced-combat goad effects, and mass sweepers such as Blasphemous Act and Deadly Cover-Up. Once the table is stabilized, the deck transitions into its late-game clock around turn 6 by transforming its commander into Nicol Bolas, the Arisen or resolving massive threats like Breach the Multiverse and Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh. These haymakers generate insurmountable card advantage, reanimate devastating opposing threats, and systematically drain life totals until opponents are eliminated over subsequent combat phases.
