valgavoth by Marks1

Format: Commander

Commander: Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls turns every opponent life-loss event into cards and +1/+1 counters. The deck is a Rakdos pain-drain control deck: it taxes opponents' upkeeps, draws, and spells with creatures and enchantments, then converts that life loss into card advantage through the commander. The primary finish is Exquisite Blood plus Sanguine Bond, tutored and assembled after the draw engine finds pieces. Secondary wins are big X spells (Exsanguinate, Torment of Hailfire), Wound Reflection doubling, and commander damage amplified by Fiery Emancipation. Valgavoth, Terror Eater acts as a hidden late-game finisher and reanimation target, not the build-around.
