Commander: Doctor Doom, King of Latveria

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Grixis Villain-tribal deck helmed by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria, built around the connive mechanic and discard synergies. The commander grants menace and a connive trigger to a Villain each combat, fueling a draw-and-discard engine that powers payoffs like Magmakin Artillerist, Archfiend of Ifnir, Moonstone, Harsh Mistress, and Containment Construct. The deck wins primarily through combat - flooding the board with menace Villain tokens and pumping them with lords like Doctor Octopus, Master Planner and The Squadron Sinister - while alternate lines include Doctor Doom, Unrivaled self-mill, Psychosis Crawler drain, Glorious Purpose free-spell chains, and Time Stretch extra turns. Mass reanimation via Rise of the Dark Realms and Behold the Sinister Six provides late-game inevitability. It is a midrange value engine that grinds card advantage through connive before closing with a wide, hard-to-block board.
