Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Midrange and Control strategy commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord. It leverages the amass Orcs mechanic, the Ring Temptation engine, and a dense package of nine Nazgûl to establish dominating board presence. Early turns focus on mana rocks and low-cost setup like Dreadhorde Invasion or early Nazgûl. Casting Sauron on Turn 5 anchors the deck: his punishing Ward ability taxes opposing removal, while opponent spellcasts automatically generate and enlarge Orc Armies. When an Army connects in combat, the Ring tempts the player, allowing Sauron to discard the current hand and draw four fresh cards.
