Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Izzet wheels and token swarm deck commanded by The Locust God. The strategy centers on ramping in the early turns using efficient mana rocks and rituals, deploying the commander on Turn 5, and executing wheel spells to churn through the library. Each card drawn generates a 1/1 flying Insect token with haste, quickly amassing an overwhelming airborne army. Passive damage outlets such as Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, and Agate Instigator convert every card draw into direct table-wide damage, while Skullclamp and Ashnod's Altar provide exponential draw loops. Supported by high-impact draw engines like Consecrated Sphinx and Teferi's Ageless Insight, the deck threatens lethal combat damage and burn by Turn 6-7. A flexible suite of counterspells and alternate win conditions like Thassa's Oracle and Niv-Mizzet, Parun ensures strong resilience against disruption and alternative paths to victory.
