Deck overview

This deck is a high-speed mono-black combo deck led by K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. Its primary objective is to race toward an early combo win between Turns 2 and 3. By paying life instead of black mana, K'rrik dramatically accelerates spell deployment and circumvents mana bottlenecks. The deck relies on dense tutor suites like Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, and Buried Alive to set up game-ending graveyard combinations. Its main win condition reanimates Necrotic Ooze with Asmodeus the Archfiend and Skirge Familiar in the graveyard, allowing you to draw your entire library and generate surplus black mana. From there, you close out the table on the spot using Aetherflux Reservoir or looping Gray Merchant of Asphodel with Chainer, Dementia Master. While exceptionally fast and resilient against creature-based removal through extensive reanimation spells, the deck is vulnerable to targeted countermagic, graveyard hate, and rule-of-law stax effects that prevent rapid spellcasting.
