Deck overview

This deck is a five-color typal strategy helmed by The Ur-Dragon, built around changeling creatures and universal creature type synergies. By leveraging changelings alongside type-granting permanents like Maskwood Nexus and Rukarumel, Biologist, the deck activates tribal payoffs from Slivers, Allies, Dwarves, and Dragons simultaneously. Early turns focus on establishing five colors of mana, deploying low-cost changelings, and setting up mana engines like Harabaz Druid or token generators like Black Market Connections. Mid-game sequencing expands the battlefield with creature tokens and token doublers. The deck closes games through combat damage powered by massive typal overruns, including Coat of Arms, Mirror Entity, and True Conviction, or by clearing opposing blockers with Raise the Palisade. While the deck benefits from redundant creature threats, it experiences tempo friction from numerous tapped lands and possesses limited instant-speed interaction.
