Deck overview

This Golgari deck is a graveyard attrition and reanimator strategy piloted by Meren of Clan Nel Toth. The game plan revolves around filling the graveyard through self-mill, cycling utility creatures with sacrifice outlets, and steadily accumulating experience counters. By Turn 4, Meren enters the battlefield to establish a recurring recursion engine. On Turn 5, the deck exerts crushing board control by looping sacrifice effects like Plaguecrafter and Accursed Marauder alongside Grave Pact, keeping opposing creature boards completely clear. The deck then transitions into a decisive win between Turns 6 and 7 by repeatedly draining the table with Gray Merchant of Asphodel, triggering Syr Konrad, the Grim through mass mill and death triggers, or using Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord to fling massive creatures like Siegfried, Famed Swordsman or Lotleth Giant. Robust backup reanimation ensures resilience against disruption.
