Black's Welcome by Psyga315

Format: Commander

Commander: Vraan, Executioner Thane

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a mono-black aristocrats drain deck helmed by Vraan, Executioner Thane, a 2-drop commander that turns each death trigger into a 2-life drain per opponent. The deck's primary game plan is to deploy value creatures, sacrifice them, and repeatedly drain opponents through a dense suite of "whenever a creature dies" triggers like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Vengeful Bloodwitch. The deck generates incremental life loss across the table while gaining life to sustain itself, eventually closing with Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Exsanguinate, or Massacre Wurm. It relies on moderate recursion via Gravedigger, Macabre Waltz, and Haunt of the Dead Marshes to grind through the midgame.
