Deck overview

This deck is an Esper spellslinger control build led by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. The strategy focuses on establishing early mana acceleration and cost reducers to cast Y'shtola on curve. Once on the battlefield, every noncreature spell with mana value 3 or greater deals 2 damage to each opponent while gaining 2 life. This ongoing life drain satisfies Y'shtola's condition to draw an extra card during each end step where a player lost 4 or more life. The deck controls the pace of the game using premium removal like Swords to Plowshares, Void Rend, and uncounterable counterspells such as Glen Elendra's Answer. It closes games around Turn 8 by multiplying triggers with clone spells like Irenicus's Vile Duplication, converting massive lifegain into lethal damage with Enduring Tenacity or Aetherflux Reservoir, or draining the table with Exsanguinate.
