Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Orzhov lifegain midrange and stax strategy commanded by Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. The primary game plan revolves around leveraging Liesa's unique commander tax rule, which replaces the mana tax with a 2-life payment, allowing consistent deployment on Turn 4. Once on the battlefield, Liesa drains each player for 2 life per spell cast while the deck uses cheap lifegain triggers like Soul Warden and Righteous Valkyrie to break parity. On Turn 5, the deck pivots into critical onset by deploying life-total threshold win conditions like Felidar Sovereign or assembling infinite drain loops with Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond. The strategy exerts continuous passive pressure, taxing opponents' life totals for taking game actions while building an insurmountable life buffer and lethal flying board.
