Garland, Royal Kidnapper is the engine of a Dimir monarch-theft deck that wins by converting temporary control magic into a permanent army. The core plan is to make opponents the monarch, steal their best creatures, and use Garland's "can't be sacrificed" clause to keep creatures acquired through sacrifice-clause effects. Recursion and exile engines like Gisa, Glorious Resurrector and Chaos Shrine's Black Crystal turn stolen creatures into durable attackers. The deck also draws heavily from opponents' libraries with Gontis, Thief of Sanity, and Staff of Eden. It has no fast combo, so it finishes through repeated combat, often using Corrupted Conscience as an infect closer.
