Deck overview

This Rendmaw, Creaking Nest deck is a Golgari artifact-combo engine wearing a goad-token costume. Roughly three-quarters of the nonland list is artifact-typed, so almost every spell - and many land drops, from Darksteel Citadel and Tree of Tales to Urza's Saga and Dryad Arbor - counts as a "card with two or more card types" and arms the whole table with a goaded 2/2 Bird that must attack everyone except you. While the Birds fight each other, the real engine runs underneath: Kuldotha Forgemaster, Metalworker, Mystic Forge, Marvin, Murderous Mimic, and a dozen mana myrs turn the artifact board into a tutoring machine. The primary kill is Forgemaster sacrificing three artifacts to put Mycosynth Golem onto the battlefield, then looping Ancestral Statue for infinite casts that feed the commander, Canoptek Spyder, and Throne of the God-Pharaoh. Backup axes are Scrap Trawler/Myr Retriever altar loops and Coat of Arms bird-beatdown.
