Commander: The Ur-Dragon

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Temur-Base Five-Color Dragon Tribal deck built around The Ur-Dragon, leveraging the eminence discount and attack triggers to flood the board with flying dragons and end games through massive combat swings and extra combat phases. The primary game plan is to ramp toward an early commander, use its attack trigger to draw cards and cheat permanents into play, then chain dragons into payoffs like Scourge of Valkas, Terror of the Peaks, and Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient to close out the game. The deck's most explosive endgame is the extra-combat package of Hellkite Charger, Scourge of the Throne, and Savage Ventmaw/Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient, which can realistically kill in a single overwhelming turn. Secondary win lines include Call the Spirit Dragons's counter-based alternate win condition and the combination of Aggravated Assault with big combat mana generators. The commander is a value engine rather than a required combo piece - the deck executes its plan at high capacity even if the Ur-Dragon never resolves.
