Garland, Royal Kidnapper is a midrange monarch-theft general. The primary plan is to establish the monarch, goad enemy attackers, then repeatedly steal the most dangerous creature from whoever holds the crown; permanent theft effects (Hostage Taker, Mind Flayer, Shield Broker) keep those creatures while Garland's +2/+2 and can't-be-sacrificed clause make them the main combat clock. Secondary paths are self-mill reanimation-stocking the graveyard with Forgotten Creation/Millikin and casting Bringer of the Last Gift, Charnel Serenade, or Sepulchral Primordial-and a draw-payoff beatdown via Chasm Skulker or Consuming Aberration. There is no hidden commander; Gyruda is a value creature, not a legal companion because the deck contains odd-mana cards. The commander ties the strategy together but is not a strict combo piece.
