Format: Commander

Commander: Captain Howler, Sea Scourge

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet tempo-aggro build centered on Captain Howler, Sea Scourge and a dense discard-reward theme. The primary game plan uses looting spells and wheels to stock the graveyard, trigger Captain Howler, Sea Scourge|Captain Howler's pump ability, then finish opponents with double-striking, extra-combat attacks from a massively buffed commander. Secondary win conditions include pinging the entire table with Brallin, Skyshark Rider, Glint-Horn Buccaneer, and Magmakin Artillerist after a wheel, or overrunning the board with Insect tokens from The Locust God. The deck relies on chaining hand filtering and consistent discard triggers to build overwhelming burst turns, but its lack of premium tutors keeps the overall plan from being hyper-consistent.
