Deck overview

This Esper deck commands a powerful Sphinx tribal strategy led by The Ur-Sphinx. The commander provides continuous cost reduction from the command zone via eminence, accelerating an imposing roster of high-impact flyers. The deck blends reanimation packages (Entomb, Reanimate, Animate Dead) with tribal card advantage engines like Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign and Consecrated Sphinx to generate massive resource velocity. In the mid-game, it drops devastating threats like Magister Sphinx to reset opponent life totals and swings with evasive creatures to cast free spells off The Ur-Sphinx's attack trigger. Asymmetric sweepers such as Raise the Palisade and Kindred Dominance maintain board dominance by wiping away opposing defenses while leaving Sphinxes untouched. In addition to combat dominance, the deck houses the compact Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation combo as a seamless alternate win condition.
