Live, Die, Repeat by Cybearnetic

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a mono-black aristocrats and -1/-1 counter deck helmed by Liliana, Heretical Healer // Liliana, Defiant Necromancer. The plan is to flood the board with expendable creatures, convert deaths into drains and card advantage via Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Ayara, First of Locthwain, and Marionette Apprentice, then close with layered infinite sacrifice loops. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed plus Yawgmoth, Thran Physician or Cauldron of Souls forms the primary engine; Nest of Scarabs and Blowfly Infestation supply a parallel counter-based win path. Liliana herself is a flexible value piece-her front side flips into a reanimation planeswalker off any nontoken death-but the combos and drains live entirely in the 99. Secondary finishers include devotion drains from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Kokusho, the Evening Star, Living Death swings, and Bolas's Citadel life payments. The deck plays as a grindy, recursive midrange combo list that thrives on attrition.
