Deck overview

This mono-black deck is helmed by Gwenom, Remorseless, a commander that turns attack steps into explosive Bolas's Citadel turns. Backed by fast mana rituals and equipment, Gwenom attacks to cast spells directly from the top of the library by paying life instead of mana. Because she has natural lifelink, her combat damage offsets life costs while enabling sustained digging through the deck. The deck converts this velocity into game-ending combos via Aetherflux Reservoir, Ad Nauseam, or infinite life-drain loops using Exquisite Blood paired with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond, or Bloodthirsty Conqueror. High-impact hate pieces such as Opposition Agent and Orcish Bowmasters provide early disruption against faster strategies.
