Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov midrange strategy centered on Syr Vondam, Sunstar Exemplar, blending creature flicker, myriad combat mechanics, and aristocrats life-drain engines. The deck generates continuous value by creating temporary tokens through myriad and mobilize, which trigger Syr Vondam both when they enter and when they exile or die at the end of combat. Repeatable blink engines like Teleportation Circle and Phelia, Exuberant Shepherd reuse powerful enter-the-battlefield abilities, drawing cards with Spirited Companion and disrupting boards with Loran of the Third Path. Drain permanents like Corpse Knight, Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, and Bastion of Remembrance steadily whittle down opposing life totals while Syr Vondam grows into an elusive threat. To close games swiftly, the deck leverages high-impact threats like Shredder, Shadow Master or an infinite reanimation combo between Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward and Animate Dead, supported by robust spot removal and resilient protection spells.
