Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu Group Slug and Pillowfort strategy commanded by Queen Marchesa. It accelerates in the opening turns using efficient two-mana artifacts, establishing early defensive barriers such as Ghostly Prison, Blind Obedience, and Authority of the Consuls to deter combat. Once safety is secured, the deck deploys punishing symmetrical damage engines including Manabarbs, Spellshock, Descent into Avernus, and Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. These pieces steadily deplete the entire table's life totals while lifegain triggers like Kambal, Consul of Allocation and Polluted Bonds keep the pilot healthy. Queen Marchesa provides steady card draw through the monarch mechanic and generates deathtouch blockers to disincentivize attacks. The deck can also close out games instantly through an incidental infinite life-drain loop with Exquisite Blood paired with Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose.
