Deck overview

This deck is a Temur midrange strategy helmed by Riku of Many Paths, designed to maximize value from modal spells, Spree cards, and the Initiative mechanic. Casting modal spells with Riku on the battlefield generates flying Bird tokens, applies +1/+1 counters, and creates impulse card advantage. Meanwhile, a dense suite of initiative creatures like Undermountain Adventurer and Caves of Chaos Adventurer steadily progresses through the Undercity dungeon to ramp mana, buff creatures, and cheat threats directly into play. The deck controls the tempo of the game using versatile modal countermagic and removal such as Cryptic Command, Mystic Confluence, and Prismari Command. As the game transitions into the late turns, the deck closes out the table through combat damage, leveraging team-wide buffs like Return of the Wildspeaker and extra combat phases from Great Train Heist to overwhelm opponents in the air.
