Deck overview

This mono-blue control deck led by Barrin, Master Wizard blends Wizard tribal synergy with sacrifice-based board control and potent token generation. The game plan focuses on rapid early mana acceleration via low-cost artifacts and cost-reducers, bridging quickly into powerful card draw engines like Azami, Lady of Scrolls and The Theorist, Jace Beleren. Once card advantage is secured, the deck deploys asymmetric taxing and counter locks through Patron Wizard and the Glen Elendra Archmage plus Sage of Fables synergy, while Barrin converts expendable permanents into instant-speed creature bounce. The deck converts this oppressive board lock into a lethal finish through evasive combat damage, utilizing token generators like Lyra, Tolarian Archangel, Thopter Spy Network, Urza's Saga Constructs, and cloned Wizard armies from Archmage of Echoes. Robust countermagic and protective equipment safeguard the board state, ensuring opponents remain suffocated while the deck marches to victory.
