Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir control and tribal synergy deck commanded by Vren, the Relentless. Its core strategy revolves around turning symmetric sacrifice effects and creature removal into asymmetric board advantage. Vren, the Relentless replaces all opposing creature deaths with exile, completely shutting off death triggers, aristocrat strategies, and graveyard recursion across the table. Each exiled creature fuels Vren's end-step trigger, producing Relentless Rat tokens that scale in power and toughness with every Rat you control. Backed by a dense suite of countermagic, instant-speed interaction, and continuous stax pieces like Grave Pact and Archfiend of Depravity, the deck keeps opposing boards empty while rapidly assembling an overwhelming swarm of lethal attackers. Evasion enablers such as Cover of Darkness and Marrow-Gnawer ensure the Rat army closes out the game cleanly over two combat steps.
