Deck overview

This deck is a high-tempo Grixis spellslinger build led by Fire Lord Azula. It combines aggressive combat steps with instant-speed spellcasting. When Azula attacks, her Firebending 2 adds {R}{R} while her triggered ability copies any spell cast during combat. The strategy leverages this ability by casting rituals, looting spells, and combat buffs while she is attacking, effectively doubling their value. Payoffs such as Storm-Kiln Artist, Archmage Emeritus, and Guttersnipe trigger on both the cast and the copy, generating tremendous Treasure production, card advantage, and table-wide life loss. The deck can close games with massive combat damage using doubled buffs like Bulk Up or Fists of Flame, or by funneling banked mana into decisive finishers like Comet Storm and Torment of Hailfire. Supported by efficient interaction and free protective spells, the deck creates explosive mid-game turns while maintaining an active defense.
