Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu combat-aggro build centered on Kaalia of the Vast. Its primary directive is simple: accelerate into Kaalia by Turn 3 or 4, provide her with haste and protection, and attack to cheat monstrous Angels, Demons, and Dragons directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. The deck thrives on explosive combat damage, utilizing damage doubling from Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Twinflame Tyrant, and Bloodletter of Aclazotz, as well as extra combat steps from Aurelia, the Warleader and Bloodthirster to rapidly pressure life totals. High-impact utility creatures like Avacyn, Angel of Hope and Serra's Emissary secure the board state, while Vilis, Broker of Blood ensures card advantage. However, the entire strategy heavily hinges on Kaalia surviving her first combat step, making the deck vulnerable to well-timed spot removal and leaving it slow to rebuild if forced to hardcast its high-mana curve without her.
