Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger and self-mill strategy built around The Emperor of Palamecia // The Lord Master of Hell. The game plan deploys the commander on Turn 2 to accelerate noncreature spells, then casts 4-plus CMC card advantage and mill spells to place counters on the Emperor. Once three counters accumulate, the commander transforms into The Lord Master of Hell. By aggressively filling the graveyard with noncreature cards using heavy mill spells like Traumatize and Cut Your Losses, the commander's Starfall attack trigger deals 20 to 30 direct damage to all opponents on Turn 5. A second attack on Turn 6 eliminates the table within one response cycle. A dense package of efficient counterspells and protection spells defends the commander, while sweepers and goad effects keep opposing boards in check.
