Deck overview

This mono-black deck combines aristocrat sacrifice value, big-mana ramp engines, and game-ending life drain loops. Piloted by Avacyn, Angel of Horror, the deck leverages nontoken death triggers to recur utility creatures and maintain resilient board states. The primary strategy accelerates through early mana rocks, rituals, and Swamp doublers like Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast to assemble the two-card infinite life drain combo of Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond (or Bloodthirsty Conqueror). Flexible tutors including Demonic Tutor and Beseech the Mirror ensure reliable access to combo pieces or asymmetric control tools like Grave Pact and The Darkness Crystal. When primary combo lines are contested, the deck pivots seamlessly into overwhelming mana finishes with Torment of Hailfire or recurring drain via Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Kokusho, the Evening Star.
