Deck overview

This mono-black deck is helmed by Ob Nixilis, the Fallen, turning every landfall into a life-drain weapon and a growing threat. The primary plan accelerates mana through redundancy - Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, Nirkana Revenant and Magus of the Coffers convert swamps into explosive mana, which fuels game-ending X-spells like Exsanguinate and Torment of Hailfire. A strong zombie subtheme (Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Josu Vess, Lich Knight, Endless Ranks of the Dead) provides an alternate beatdown route, while a suite of Liliana planeswalkers and mass reanimation spells (Rise of the Dark Realms, Command the Dreadhorde) ensure the board keeps coming back. The deck is a slow-rolling value engine that eventually overwhelms opponents with life loss and overwhelming mana.
