This deck is a specialized Grixis toolbox control strategy helmed by Mairsil, the Pretender. The deck focuses on filling the graveyard with activated abilities from potent creatures and artifacts using cards like Buried Alive, Entomb, and cheap looting spells. Once cast, Mairsil cages key cards to build a modular threat. Caging Aetherling provides instant-speed blinking, allowing Mairsil to dodge removal and trigger its enter-the-battlefield ability repeatedly to cage additional cards. When combined with Nevinyrral's Disk, Mairsil creates a repeatable one-sided board wipe that wipes opposing nonland permanents while blinking safely out of harm's way.
