Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir midrange strategy that pairs Human typal synergies with a draw-two mechanic led by Kang, Temporal Tyrant. The primary plan develops low-cost Human creatures and mana rocks during the early turns, establishing board presence before deploying Kang. Once Kang attacks, his connive trigger immediately satisfies the condition to draw a second card each turn, triggering his passive life drain and fueling token generators like Detective of the Month and Mischievous Mystic. The deck scales its board presence using anthems such as Door of Destinies and Obelisk of Urd, while taking advantage of the monarch mechanic through cards like Court of Vantress and Azure Fleet Admiral to maintain continuous card flow. Because the deck lacks infinite combos and countermagic, it secures victory through sustained combat pressure, evasive attackers, and incremental life loss over multiple turn rotations.
