Deck overview

This Mardu deck uses Edgar Markov's Eminence ability to execute an aggressive go-wide Vampire tribal and aristocrat strategy. In the early turns, it casts efficient low-mana Vampires to generate 1/1 tokens for free, establishing an overwhelming board without spending extra mana. By turns 4 and 5, it transitions into lethal pressure using team buffs like Cathars' Crusade and Cordial Vampire, or life-draining triggers from Sanctum Seeker, Blood Artist, and Malakir Bloodwitch. The deck also features the game-ending two-card combo of Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond to close out stalled games. While the deck boasts high redundancy and recovers quickly from standard removal thanks to Eminence, its lack of countermagic and mass phasing leaves it exposed to mass exile sweepers. Its interaction package provides strong removal for all permanent types, ensuring it can disrupt opposing commanders while racing toward a turn 7 victory.
