Commander: Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon leads a focused mono-black infect and proliferate list. The primary plan is to resolve Skithiryx on turns 3-4 using rituals, rocks, and cost reducers, then suit him with Fireshrieker or Blackblade Reforged to turn a two-swing clock. Proliferate permanents (Contagion Engine, Contagion Clasp, Karn's Bastion) turn incidental poison from Ichor Rats, Infectious Inquiry, or early attacks into the missing counters. A secondary drain plan uses Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Exsanguinate with big Swamp mana. The commander is simultaneously the best beatdown threat and a resilient haste regenerator; without him, the deck falls back to small infect creatures and proliferate, which is slower but still functional.
