Deck overview

This five-color Spellslinger deck is commanded by Codie, Ravenous Codex, utilizing the Prepare mechanic to double the value and storm count of creature-based instant and sorcery spells. By casting prepared spells such as Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song, Landscape Painter // Vibrant Idea, and Emeritus of Conflict // Lightning Bolt, Codie duplicates each cast to trigger Magecraft and group-slug burn abilities twice per creature. Payoffs like Guttersnipe, Coruscation Mage, Firebrand Archer, and Black Waltz No. 3 quickly drain all opponents simultaneously, while Storm-Kiln Artist and Archmage Emeritus provide self-sustaining mana and card flow. The deck assembles its core on Turn 4, unleashes a decisive storm burst on Turn 5, and eliminates the table on Turn 6 with an extra wave of copied spells or a lethal Exsanguinate. Robust interaction, redirection, and split second protection from Samut, Tyrant of Naktamun keep key turns safe.
