Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Selesnya Voltron aggro-combo strategy centered on Sergeant John Benton. By utilizing an ultra-dense package of one-mana ramp spells, the deck reliably deploys its commander on turn 2. Benton's innate haste and trample allow immediate combat connection, which turns cheap pump spells like Giant Growth, Groundswell, and free spells like Invigorate into massive card draw bursts. On turn 3, this sudden influx of cards enables overwhelming commander damage bursts through double strike enablers such as Flaming Fist or hand-size payoffs like Empyrial Armor and Scent of Ivy, eliminating the first opponent. Because the commander draws up to a dozen cards per swing, the pilot consistently maintains a full hand of one-mana protection spells including Tamiyo's Safekeeping and Blacksmith's Skill. This shields Benton against opposing removal across consecutive turns, allowing the deck to eliminate all three opponents sequentially by turn 5.
